In 2012 we landed on this island with a project and many ideas in our heads. Years later, the dream has taken shape and we continue to work on it every day.
It’s a never-ending job, which gives us the satisfaction of using our time and energy for a project that reflects our values and in which we believe.

Finca la Canopea, a permaculture project in Los Silos

Since 2014 we work at Finca la Canopea to give life to a nearly desert land of 1 hectare… with the aim to gaze at a beautiful canopy within 2 decades !

About Us

Béné and Pascal, your hosts

We are a Belgian couple who live in Los Silos since 2012. In 2014, we started a permaculture project called Finca la Canopea, in order to make a transition towards a more sustainable future. Over time, the project has grown and we developed an edible forest, a vanilla cultivation, family activities and guided tours for individuals. In addition, we offer training for schools and institutions interested in discovering other ways to take care of the Earth. Throughout the years we have welcomed and hosted many volunteers and travelers, with the goal of extending our little world to all those who want to come, be inspired, and breathe an air of positive change. So why not join us and immerse yourself in our rural environment for a month or two?
